Welcome!

I feel so fortunate to work as the sixth grade math and science teacher in the Academy! I was fortunate to come to Portola in 2008, and I've taught in the AIAT since 2022. I hold a multiple subject credential as well as a supplemental credential in mathematics. I have also earned my National Board Certification in Early Adolescence Mathematics.

I am an ardent fan of all things nerdy, especially Disney, Harry Potter, Star Wars, Doctor Who, Marvel, Star Trek--and did I mention Disney?? I am also a loyal Swiftie thanks to my 10 year-old-daughter. 🫶

I absolutely love being a teacher. I set high standards for my students, yet I also strive to provide an environment where students feel safe to make mistakes and learn from these mistakes. I am grateful for students who ask questions, and I try to make all my students feel comfortable in sharing their thinking. Students—come to me any time you feel confused, curious, or frustrated. I am here to help you succeed!
